Q&A

Q: Whom is eligible to receive services?

ODAT provides services to students at the school sites we serve in East Contra Costa and San Joaquin Counties. Youth must be enrolled in one of the schools we service in order to be able to attend the after school group sessions.

We also serve youth and young adults referred to us by the John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek. These individuals have been injured through intentional forms of violence (i.e. victims of assault, shootings, stabbings and other forms of violence). This partnership is known as the Beyond Violence program. Clients is this program are referred to us solely by the John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek.

Q: What is the associated cost to the public for ODAT services?

There is no cost to the children, youth, young adults or families in our program. All ODAT program costs are funded through direct service contracts with school districts, generous donations, grants or partnerships with other organizations. For specific field trips in our school linked program, ODAT participants are asked to fundraise to help leverage the costs associated with these field trips.

Q: Can ODAT provide me referrals or resources?

ODAT Staff always try to help when possible! If you or someone you know are looking for community resources, we may be able to help. Our years of working in the community have allowed us to learn of many programs and community organizations helping people throughout the bay area. If you are looking for program or assistance, we may know of a program. Just call and ask!
