Get Involved with One Day At a Time

Teens in playing field

Empower Youth • Build Community • Change Lives

At One Day At a Time (ODAT), we believe every young person deserves the chance to grow, heal, and lead.

Your involvement—whether through time, mentorship, or financial support—helps us deliver life-changing programs in mentorship, creative expression, and violence prevention across Contra Costa County.

Ways to get Involved

Volunteer:  Give Your Time. Make a Lasting Impact.

Our volunteers are the heart of ODAT. Whether you help at community events, mentor youth, or share your professional skills, your time creates ripples of change.

You can:

  • Assist with youth workshops and field trips
  • Support tabling and community outreach events
  • Help with office or creative projects
  • Offer mentorship or life skills training

Become a Mentor:  Guide. Listen. Inspire.

Mentorship is at the core of ODAT’s mission. We believe that change starts with connection — one trusted relationship at a time.

As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Support young people as they navigate personal and academic challenges
  • Help youth develop leadership and communication skills
  • Share your own experiences to encourage growth and confidence
  • Be part of a supportive network of mentors dedicated to healing and empowerment

Eligibility:

We welcome adults from all backgrounds who are passionate about youth development and community impact.

ODAT provides training, ongoing support, and resources to help you succeed as a mentor.

Every contribution—large or small—has the power to change lives.

One Day At a Time is thankful to everyone who helps us expand our mission of empowering underserved youth and young adults.

Your donation can help fund transportation for a field trip, support youth-led projects, or provide creative and healing opportunities. Either way, you’re giving a young person the chance to see the world in a different light.
